1. Invest in good equipment
Purchase a reliable rake or leaf blower. You don’t want your equipment to fail in the middle of your project.
2. Spread out the work
Don’t try to tackle the entire lawn in a few hours. Raking can be very labor-intensive. Make sure to take regular breaks to prevent injury.
3. Work from high to low
Start removing leaves from the highest point in your hard and work toward the lowest part of the yard. You don’t want to push leaves into an area that you have already clean. Also, make sure to remove leaves from around decks and sheds.
4. Check collection days
Some garbage companies will not collect yard waste during normal collection times. Before placing your leaves on the curb, make sure that the leaves you removed will be picked up. If you don’t want to bag up the leaves yourself, consider a curbside leaf vacuuming service.
5. Use a tarp
Raking or blowing all of the leaves onto a large tarp can save time and energy. Once the leaves are on the tarp, they can be moved and collected easily.

7. Mulch leaves
If you don’t have time to rake and bag leaves, you can pass the lawn mover over leaves to shred them. The tiny pieces will help improve the quality of the soil as they slowly breakdown.

8. Don't rake wet leaves
Try to get out there before it rains to avoid raking wet leaves. It is much easier to work with dry leaves. Wet leaves are heavier and they will clog up your rake.

9. Rake with the wind
Don't try to rake against the wind. Even better, avoid raking altogether on a windy day. One gust can erase hours of hard work.
10. Wear gloves
Make sure to protect your hands when you are raking leaves. Raking without gloves is like asking for blisters.
11. Compact the leaves
If you're not planning on bagging the leaves, you should make sure to compact them. Simply walking on the leaves can help prevent them from blowing away.
12. Call in the pros!
Eliminate all of the hassle associated with leaf removal by calling in the professionals. Leaf removal companies offer a variety of services that can fit any budget. The pros can complete the job quickly and easily with their special equipment. Best of all, you can just sit back and relax.
